Elpida Village: An amphitheatrical resort with panoramic views of Mirabello Bay
Accommodations & Views
Elpida Village is built in an amphitheatrical layout on a hillside, offering each room expansive sea views from private balconies or terraces. The 66 air-conditioned units range from double rooms to family two-bedroom suites, all with daily housekeeping and a minibar. Guests in superior or comfort rooms receive upgraded bedding and larger living spaces, as noted in guest reviews.
Dining
The on-site main restaurant serves authentic Cretan dishes with a changing menu of at least three warm options daily, including moussaka, tzatziki, and fresh fish. A weekly barbecue dinner features choriatiki salad, dolma, and grilled meats with baklava for dessert. The hotel also offers traditional cooking classes by local chefs, and a coffee house on the terrace serves Greek coffee with the bay view.
Leisure
The outdoor swimming pool has a shallow end and complimentary sunbeds, with pool/beach towels provided. A games room offers billiards, air hockey, and table tennis, while the fitness center and bicycle rental are available for active guests. For children, there is a dedicated playground, kids' club, indoor play area, kids' outdoor play equipment, and a separate kids' pool.
Entertainment & Evening
The bar and snack bar serve drinks and light meals, with live music and karaoke nights held on the terrace several times a week. A Greek Night with traditional music and dancing is a regular feature, and movie nights are shown in the shared lounge. The games room and pool area stay open late, providing evening activities for all ages.
Points of Interest
Elpida Village is 800 metres from the sandy beach and 1.5 km from Voulisma Beach, with a free hotel shuttle operating to the latter at set times. The hotel is adjacent to the archaeological site of Spinalonga, the second most visited in Crete, and a short drive from Ierapetra and Agios Nikolaos with its salt-water lake. Guests can also reach the exotic beach and palm tree colony in Eastern Crete within a 30-minute drive.
