Beachside apartments in Agios Nikolaos with kitchenettes and sea views
Rooms
Mare Hotel Apartments offers studios and one-bedroom apartments, each with a well-equipped kitchenette and a balcony. Room options include Studio with Inland View and One-Bedroom Apartment with Sea View, the latter providing views of Mirabello Bay. The apartments retain a traditional island architecture, with tiled floors and wooden shutters, and are cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff.
Dining
The on-site restaurant serves international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a buffet that changes daily and includes local dishes and seafood. Complimentary beverages are included during dinner, a perk noted by guests who received free drinks from the restaurant staff. Breakfast is described as wonderful by the hotel's amenity list, and the dining room is managed by a friendly head waitress named Sophia.
Points of Interest
The hotel sits within 50 meters of Kitroplateia Beach, a blue-flag beach with turquoise water and nearby tavernas. A 10-minute walk leads to the center of Agios Nikolaos, Lake Voulismeni, and the Panagia Kera Church. Guests can also explore the lively shops and restaurants along the town's pedestrian streets.
Leisure
A seasonal outdoor freshwater swimming pool and a sun terrace are available for relaxation. For active guests, the tour desk can arrange diving excursions and mountain biking trips, as well as car rental to explore Crete. Spa treatments and wellness services are also offered on-site, providing additional options for relaxation.
Amenities
The hotel provides family rooms with options for twin or double beds, and baby cots can be accommodated. Car rental and a tour desk help families plan day trips, such as a boat ride to Spinalonga Island. The staff, notably receptionist Maria and restaurant host Sophia, are consistently praised for their helpfulness and warm hospitality.
